After Recordings featuring V-Roy – Episode 5
V-ROY (N. Van Roey) was born in 1993 at Leuven, Belgium. Influenced in 1999 by electronic music,
He bought a mixer and turntables in 2001 and was very interested in the expression of electronic music. After a year experimenting with vinyls from electronic trance/progressive music labels he wanted to make that music by himself!
V-Roy did some keyboard lessons when he was at the age of 7 but he couldn’t read notes on paper, he played by feeling (trial & error) and connected his tape recorder to the keyboard, recorded some ideas till
he bought his first professional Roland Synth in half 2003, impressed as he was, the gear was very expensive so he was looking for jobs to earn money for more synths, studio effects and mixers.
V-ROY has finished a couple of tracks and remixes you can listen or buy at Itunes, Beatport etc.
March 2008, when V-ROY is 14 years old, he signed a recorddeal with Actuate Recordings from the UK. They found the demos via MySpace.
July 2008, V-Roy made a remix of Endless Wave from Kamaya Painters and send it to dj Tiësto himself. One month later he found his remix in Tiësto’s playlist.
V-Roy felt accepted in the music world about the support from that time number 1 dj Tiësto!
After that, he knew he should keep doing music and builded a complete new studio with tons of power on-board for higher quality productions.
The latest V-Roy tracks have some support in Club Illusion lier from Jan Vervloet January 16th ’09: V-Roy sign the Bonzai Records label.
In 2010 he released a vocal track on Jan Vervloet’s label and was well supported, ranked number 9 in the UltraTop-Dance-charts.
2011 – V-ROY played various times in club Déjà-Vu (Blankenberge) and from there he got invited to perform at DNC (Gent), club Paradise (Antwerpen), The Zoo (Hasselt), club Montreal (Leuven) and at Circuit (Heusden-Zolder)
Over that time bpm’s got a bit slower.
In his studio he worked on a new sound and learned a lot of techniques of composing, mixing and mastering.
The sound changed from trance to progressive and deeper house caused by a bigger impact in clubs.
2013/2015 – V-ROY is working on a full studio album.
New tracks will be released in 2017, probably on the new After Recordings label.
